In 1989, a third gated theme park was unveiled at the Walt Disney World Resort. A celebration of movies and of Hollywood, the Disney-MGM studios was designed to give visitors a peek at the secrets of moviemaking, as well as a chance to relive fond memories through attractions and shows. The designers set the tone for the day's experience in the buildings lining the park's entry avenue, Hollywood Boulevard, which feature authentic art-deco architectural details from many famous Hollywood landmarks.
From January 2008, Disney MGM Studios will be known as Hollywood Studios.
