The global success of the Disney characters have been enhanced by the many artists and writers who have created many funny and enjoyable stories for comics. Ub Iwerks, Floyd Gottfredson and Al Taliaferro started the Disney comic art, and Carl Banks, as a writer and artist, set a standard that is still maintained by Disney Comic book artists today.
In Europe and many other places, you can still find many Disney comics, and they are still an important part of culture. However, they have virtually disappeared from the U.S marketplace.
